Overview of Actions
SLO RESIL is an over 80,000 acre CalVTP Project Specific Analysis (PSA)/Addendum located in the Coastal Zone. ARC Forestry conducted field verification and mapping, treatment area design, treatment prescriptions, and supported the development of a CalVTP PSA/Addendum, including negotiations with the California Coastal Commission for obtaining CEQA-coverage for over 80,000 acres of treatment areas in Northern San Luis Obispo County under a CAL FIRE Wildfire Prevention Grant.
ARC Forestry prioritized and designed treatment areas, developed treatment prescriptions, coordinated partners, presented to the public, negotiated with agencies, completed multiple archaeological survey reports under a qualified archaeologist, and other CEQA exemptions, including seven governor’s suspensions.
Prior to operations, ARC Forestry developed project specifications for contracts, conducted bid tours, evaluated bids, supported contractor selection, developed ARC Field Maps for operations and project planning, conducted project layout, and supervised treatment implementation, including winter period monitoring.
ARC Forestry supported un-siloed capacity building for all partners to share our methods with and expand regional capacity through training land stewards and contractors alike.
Treatment Status
Completed and approved first of its kind permit across over 80,000 acres of Coastal Zone for the entire coastal district of USLTRCD. Over 200 acres of treatments completed as of 2025 with another approximately 1,000 acres in planning to be implemented beginning in 2026.
